WHAT’S INVOLVED?


 

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: The Sr. Network Engineer’s roles primary responsibilities include engineering, design, implementation and troubleshooting of corporate network and security solutions. Secondary responsibilities include helping develop a managed services practices for clients of corporation and working with team to troubleshoot issues uncovered by the corporate monitoring system ( e.g. Autotask Automate ). The network must sustain 24/7 operations for in-house computers, phone systems, software systems, servers, storage devices and to availability and security of the supported business applications. This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

 

WHAT YOU GET TO DO?

 

 

Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • LAN / WAN routing and switching engineering, design, implementation, and management in organizations that range from small to large. Within environments that range from extremely simple to very complex.  
  • To work out of corporate offices and help build out Data Center alongside Managed Services practice including establishing ARIN account for American Parent Company and design/engineering/implementation of Internet Edge architectures.
  • Provide technical leadership on complex projects and mentorship to team of less experienced technicians.
  • Develop comprehensive design documentation
  • Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Secure Infrastructure (IPS, IDS, NAC) within LAN.
  • Complex routing and switching solutions ( using Netgear, HP, Cisco, Ruckus, SonicWall) utilizing NAT, VLAN’s, BGP, LAG, OSPF, ISIS VxLan, SWITCH STACKING, EVPN
  • Redundant layers of equipment (high availability through active/active and active/passive configurations)
  • VMWare VSphere networking
  • Microsoft Windows network comprised of Windows 8, 10, 2016, 2019
  • Firm understanding when it is appropriate or best practices to use fiber and when to use copper connectivity solutions
  • Next Generation Firewalls ( SonicWall )
  • Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
  • Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration functions to implement desktop and server systems that utilize industry best practices to meet corporate objectives.
  • Responsible for network switches, access points, routers, and physical & software defined networking configuration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Require an active Cisco CCIE or Juniper JNCIE certificate or equivalent experience
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
