Primary Objectives:

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist - Legal and Labor Relations works closely with the company’s managers/supervisors to review and recommend the appropriate decisions that will affect the employees’ terms and conditions of employment. He/She works hand in hand with the HR Supervisor -  legal and Labor Relations, to ensure that all legal and labor compliances are met.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Gathers and validates data regarding incident reports for disciplinary action.
  2. Reviews appropriate Notice to Explain and Notice of Decision ( taking into consideration all documents and evidence gathered) for issuance to erring employees.
  3. Assists in conducting administrative hearings by transcribing recordings, setting up schedules and issuing letters of invitations.
  4. Assists the HR Supervisor - Legal and Labor Relations in keeping abreast of changes in legislation and monitors legal and regulatory compliances for employment law statutes with support from legal function.
  5. Assists the HR Supervisor - Legal and Labor Relations in examining the need for new policies and procedures according to business needs, best practices and changes to legislation.
  6. Conducts research to assist with design and implementation of company policies and procedures impacting employment terms/rights of employees.
  7. Assist the Immediate Supervisor in issuing formal discipline notices and review discipline and grievance appeals (if necessary).
  8. Communicates effectively with Immediate Supervisors to create a positive working environment by addressing grievances related to labor relations..
  9. Reviews company documents related to employment condition and terms (eg. termination letter, AWOL notices, notice of temporary stoppages of work, etc.)
  10. Provides basic information on labor issues to HRBPs and other HR staff.
  11. Escalates critical legal or labor concerns to the HR Supervisor - Legal and Labor Relations 
  12. Prepares documents that are submitted to DOLE regularly for compliance.
  13. Assists the HR Supervisor - Legal and Labor Relations in the preparation of DOLE requirements for the yearly DOLE inspection
  14. Conducts orientation to all managers/supervisors topics related to legal and labor relations.
  15. Assists the HR Supervisor - Legal and Labor Relations  in the preparation of documents to be used on NLRC cases and/or court hearings.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Holds a degree in Human Resources, Psychology or any related field or equivalent knowledge and understanding.
  2. Must have at least 2 years experience as an HR Practitioner – HR Specialist or HR Officer (employee & labor relations)
  3. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate with employees and suppliers at all levels.
  4. Must have an exposure on Human Resources Management, Hiring, Developing Standards, Foster Teamwork, Management Proficiency, Managing Profitability, Promoting Process Improvement, Building Relationships, People Skills, Retaining Employees.
  5. Knowledgeable in any HRIS
  6. Knowledgeable in MS and Google Office.
